University Commons, formerly Chicago’s South Water Market, is a historical landmark made up of 6 buildings and 917 units. These former produce warehouses, built in the Daniel Burnham architecture style back in 1920, were converted into condos between 2004 and 2007. With 38 different floorplans, there are a variety of options with something for every buyer: 1-bedroom plus den, 2-bedroom/2-bath and 3-bedroom/2-bath duplex and corner units and fourth-floor penthouse units— the fourth floor was added to each building to accommodate these units and the amenities (gyms and recreation rooms). University Commons has full-time, on- site management, an outdoor pool and 30-seat movie theater. Come see us at this historic, full-amenity complex!

Jason Webb and Angie Pelayo both live in the complex—they both own their condos in Building 3—and have over 22 years of experience between them. Living here has its perks! Jason and Angie know just about everything there is to know about each of the buildings and can enthusiastically communicate the quality of life, as they live it each and every day. Whether you’re looking to buy or sell, you’ll want to have a conversation with them before you make any moves in this complex!

Jason Webb

Jason Webb

jason.webb@dreamtown.com 312.505.9322

Jason has extensive experience as a licensed real estate broker, and credits his ability to educate and fully explain all aspects of the process to his clients as one of his greatest strengths. Although he has worked all over the city, he specializes in the West Loop, South Loop, Pilsen, and UIC area including University Village and University Commons, where he lives. While he represents a variety of clients, he especially enjoys working with first-time buyers and sellers.

When not spending time with his clients, Jason is very involved in the 6-building University Commons complex he has resided in for the past 14 years. He served on his building’s Condo Board for those 14 years and regularly sat on the Master Board, as well. He has participated in a number of community volunteer efforts, including the clean-up of local viaducts. He also helps manage the complex’s social media page and participates in just about every social event, including the monthly book club. He takes all of his experience with him to every transaction, but still admits to learning at least one new thing at every closing!

Jason is also an investor, with his business partners, in multi-family buildings on Chicago's near west side.

Angie Pelayo is an accomplished real estate professional dedicated to achieving her clients’ goals. Prior to earning her broker’s license in 2018, Angie enjoyed a successful 12-year career in advertising and marketing. Complementing her Master’s Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications, it was a career path that allowed her to develop the expertise and skills that now benefit her Dream Town clients. Sellers, in particular, appreciate her marketing savvy—and her ability to make their property stand out in a competitive market. Buyers and sellers alike praise her integrity, honesty and kindness: Just some of the special traits that Angie builds upon to forge enduring client relationships.

Angie’s client-focused approach to real estate has been shaped by advice she was given many years ago: You will learn more by listening rather than speaking. Starting each relationship by listening carefully to truly understand her client’s unique needs, dreams and objectives, she brings all of her experience and expertise to achieve their specific goals. She is an effective communicator and a sharp negotiator who will advocate tirelessly to get her clients to the finish line. A native Chicagoan who has lived in 7 different neighborhoods throughout the city, Angie’s local knowledge and insights are unmatched—and she has that special ability to guide buyers to that perfect home in the perfect neighborhood.

Spanish-speaking clients will be delighted to know that Angie is bilingual and able to handle even the most complex transaction in either language. A strong believer in giving back to her community, she also devotes her time to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. In her free time, Angie has a long list of things she loves about Chicago. She never tires of returning to a neighborhood where she used to live—and delights equally in exploring unfamiliar corners of the city and suburbs. From Chicago’s vibrant dining scene to its architectural diversity and lakefront trails, she is truly passionate about the city she has always called home.
